FYS Participation Journal - Day #1

Learning is an active process. To get the most out of your class experience you will need to participate in our various in-class activities and discussions. In this class there will be 20 days of instruction in which to earn your participation points. Participation points will be assigned 2 per designated class day, up to 40 points.
These points will be assessed based on the description you provide of your class participation in the personal Participation Journal Blog and from my observations. After each designated class you will briefly answer the following questions in your online journal:

·         Today in class I learned…
·         I earned my participation points today by…

These journal posts will also be worth 2 points per designated class day, up to 40 points.
So, as you see I value classroom participation! This is worth up to 80 total points! I reserve the right to deduct participation points for students who are chronically late to class.

Today we did another ice breaker activity,  talked about the syllabus and the FYS course in general and my expectations for your participation in the class.  What did you learn and how did you participate?
